Assigning a SIP trunk phone number

To assign a SIP trunk phone number to a user:

  1. Click Services.

    Control Center shows the Services console. Use the console to access an inventory of your services, check the status of orders, and manage your services.

  1. In the Network, Security, and Communications box, click IQ Networking.

    Control Center shows all IQ Networking services on the enterprise ID. SIP Trunk services have a service ID starting with VO-.
  1. Search for the service you want to work with.  When you find the service you want to work with, click the hyperlinked service ID or click the icon (in the Actions column), then click View Details.

  1. Click the Telephone Number Management tab.

    Control Center shows the telephone number(s) for the service.

  1. Select the checkbox next to the phone number you want to assign information to.
  1. From the Select Action list, select Edit TNs Individually.
  1. For each phone number, fill in the last name, first name, and email address for the person who will be using the number. (If you selected more than one, use the down (and up) arrow to move between phone numbers.)

  1. Click Update.

    Your changes are effective immediately.

    After you assign a phone number to a user, that person is responsible for keeping the PPU location information current and can do so in Control Center.

Managing PPU location information

  1. Click Register.
  1. In the Username field, type your phone number.
  1. Review the user agreement, then click Accept.
  1. Create a secret question and answer, then click Next.
  1. Create a permanent password, then click Save.

    After you finish creating a Control Center account, the My 911 Locations screen appears and shows the location for your phone that was assigned when your number was set up.
